Fall 2017 Schedule & Information

PLEASE NOTE: Our clinical sites require that students have a completely clean background for the last 7 years. If the student has any items that show up on their background check, the student will not be allowed to attend the externship. Not attending the externship means the student has failed the entire class.

If the health and screening requirements are met (as shown on the "How To Register" page), and you have been cleared as eligible by the deadline date, then registering for the class depends on your priority registration. Phlebotomy can only take a maximum of 30 students. When the class reaches its registration limit, the registration system will default to putting students on the waiting list.

HLC 111 is being offered in Fall 2017 from 8/21/17 to 12/15/17.

8/21/17 to 10/28/17 is a combination of the lecture class and the hands on skills lab. The lecture class is held during those dates in the Race building on the Santa Rosa campus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30pm - 8:45pm. The skills lab class is held in the Race building on the Santa Rosa campus during those dates on Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:15pm.

10/30/17 to 12/15/17 is the onsite clinical externship, which consists of a total of 61.25 hours in which the student is assigned to various clinical sites throughout Sonoma County. At the site, the student will work with a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture on patients. Assignments to these clinical sites can be on any day of the week, and on any shift. Students should be prepared to work day, evening, and/or night shifts, and work on weekdays and/or weekends.
